Bedding!

We are happy to unveil a line of Smoking Lily bedding!

Above are a few photos of the stock that arrived in Vancouver today. More photos and details will be posted on the website tomorrow.

The children's blankets are patchwork masterpieces using a plethora of beautiful cottons with bold Lily prints. You'll find giraffes, tractors, obi flowers and flyz all intermingled with lovely Japanese cottons. The blankets are quilted for warmth and durability.

The Vintage Wool Blankets have been lovingly adorned with silk patchwork.

And last, but not least, we are making Duvet and Pillow Sets! They are so gorgeous. Each set is unique with regard to background fabrics, prints and patchwork placements.

Victoria Shop Update

As we have no way to expand the size of the sweet Victoria shop, we have undertaken another fresh visual transformation of the 44 square foot space! The walls were painted white, new draperies, bench covers and jewelry displays were dreamed up and sewn, new lighting was created and a new visual display was installed. We think it's a lovely new backdrop for our garments, accessories and home-wares. Drop in to check it out if you're in the neighbourhood!

Soon, our Spring line will be fluttering into the shops and onto the website. The samples are exciting and will soon morph into a flock of dresses, skirts, tops and more. All designed to make you smile - we are definitely grinning here. I'll post photos of the new creations as soon as they fly through the doors.

Seeking Snow

I went to Lillooet Lake Lodge for a couple of days to ring in the new year and seek some snow on the wet West Coast. It was so beautiful and quiet and quaint... a really lovely time watching snow flakes fall and trudging through the fresh powder.

Although we have plenty more winter days ahead of us, it's time to be conjuring up Spring designs here at Smoking Lily. The studio is cooking up a full line of beautiful new garments to be in stores in the next few weeks. Patterns are being drafted, samples are being sewn, fabric is at the ready. We'll be sure to keep you posted on the exciting progress.
